Amir’s initiative to replace all AC units in schools wins praise

 Several MPs praised the initiative taken by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to replace the air-conditioners in all public schools. They considered this gesture of His Highness the Amir as an addition to his record of humanitarian work throughout the world.

Earlier, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa said he received directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to replace all air-conditioning units in every school under the ministry’s umbrella. He revealed that the expenses of this initiative has been personally covered by the Amir, indicating that the process of replacing all the units will start very soon so that all air conditioning units in the public schools throughout Kuwait will be replaced by summer of next year.

Dr. Al-Essa expressed his utmost gratitude to the Amir for such a humanitarian directive, even though it is not something out of the ordinary from the humanitarian leader.

The Amir’s decision was in response to the numerous complaints from parents and teachers, and the distress calls from several bodies including the parliament regarding the scorching heat that students are forced to bear because the air conditioners in schools have been non-functional throughout September. Afew MPs then raised the issue to the minister of education. In this regard, Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Mubarak Al-Khurainej extended gratitude and deep appreciation to His Highness the Amir for his fatherly gesture and initiative to donate generously for the benefit of Kuwaiti students by replacing all air conditioners in the schools of Ministry of Education.

He stressed that this initiative represents the huge parental concern that the Amir has for the students who suffered from heat due to the inoperative air conditioners in their schools. Al-Khurainej said this gesture fully indicates the high patronage and great care of the Amir for all segments of Kuwaiti citizens and ensure all the support and care for the Kuwaiti people are provided. He reminded of the fact that the honoring of His Highness the Amir as the Global Humanitarian Leader by the United Nations was in recognition of his great sense of humanity. Al-Khurainej urged all leaders to follow the example of His Highness the Amir in caring for the citizens all the time. He also beseeched Allah to bestow on the Amir good health, happiness and a long life and to grant him great reward for his humanitarian initiative towards the students.

Meanwhile, MP Madhi Ayed Al-Hajri extended sincere gratitude to His Highness the Amir for issuing directives to replace all air conditioners in the schools of Ministry of Education at his own expense, stressing that it is not strange for the world leader of humanitarian work to take such an initiative and display such parental humanity. He said this generous initiative of His Highness the Amir demonstrates the care he has for his sons — the students, and affirms that he is an affectionate father and a great leader who closely follows up the issues affecting citizens and empathizes with their suffering of problems and obstacles, adding that it also confirms the Amir’s keenness about the educational arena.

In addition, MP Hamad Al-Harshani stressed that the humanitarian work of His Highness the Amir is ongoing and does not require any evidence or proof. He said, “His biography is the best testament of his love for his people and his humanity through his good works”, affirming that the directive issued by His Highness the Amir to replace of all air conditioners in the schools of Ministry of Education at his expense is a new addition to his big book of humanity.
