Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano commended, during official dinner with First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's support to IAEA to achieving global peace and stability.
Amano said Kuwait was playing a crucial role in boosting security worldwide.
He made the remarks during an official dinner banquet held by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled for the IAEA chief on the occasion of his visit to Kuwait.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled expressed appreciation for the IAEA's technical support for the member states to develop peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled said the UN nuclear watchdog was also active in addressing nuclear armament, as well as supporting research and application of nuclear science. The senior Kuwaiti official said Kuwait was pleased with the leval of cooperation with the Vienna-based IAEA.
The dinner banquet was attended by Acting Foreign Undersecretary Mohammad Ahmad Al-Roumi, Director of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's office Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah, Director of International Organization Department Jassem Al-Mubaraki, Director of protocols Dhari Al-Ajran and Kuwait's Ambassador to the UN in Vienna Sadeq Marafi.
