On a larger note, the association has always been in the forefront of reaching out to various causes, thus setting a shining example to all. It is therefore not astonishing to see them host events with great aplomb and success over the last one-and-a-half decade.

The association is known not only for meticulous planning but also perfect execution and the annual May Queen Ball has been a true example for this. The annual May Queen Ball is the signature event of GWA that has grown from strength to strength over the years and guests from the GCC and home country are expected in huge numbers to attend along with local guests. The organization is planning a mega celebration for this year, said GWA president Simon D’Silva.

Alcatrazz, Goa’s top live band along with versatile female singer with a golden voice Sandra Franco will have the crowds swinging during the event. The organizers say that the band has an outstanding ability to set floor on fire with their exhilarating and spectacular performances. Alcatrazz took off into the music world over two decades ago, never looking back. The band grabbed attention right off the bat, by performing for all the top shows in Goa and across India and abroad. It has set the music world in Goa ablaze with their sensational blend of vocals, instruments, rhythm, visual technique in trend, and showmanship. Their extensive repertoire of music such as English retro, Bollywood, latest from billboard charts and rock music is what makes every party a big success.

The band is powered by six top musicians with Cassian Fernandes (lead vocals), Patrick Silveira (drums & vocals), Cassius Fernandes (keyboards and vocals), Peter Faria (bass & vocals), Francis D'Souza (lead & vocals), and Sandra Franco (female vocalist). Also featuring at the event will be DJ Glorio, with his exquisite choice of music that ensures that everybody has a great time.

GOA’s top host Updesh Swar and Mahesh Prabhu will be masters of ceremony. Updesh Swar,  a sensation in Goa and all over India including abroad has a unique hold over the audience - his eloquent, witty compering is second to none. Even though Swar has compered at the event a number of times, each time he comes up with a new style.

Mahesh Prabhu, ex-resident of Qatar who moved to Bahrain this month for professional reasons will be specially flown in to Qatar to compere the event. Mahesh Prabhu has been actively promoting Indian culture to GCC countries over the last 19 years now. The Goan Welfare Association is promising that the ball will be a fun filled event that presents a superb and flawless show for the 17th consecutive year. May Queen Ball is one of the eagerly-awaited annual events in Doha and every year it attracts full-house audience who make it a memorable event.
