he congestion inside Kuwait International Airport is expected to reach its peak between July 17th and July 20th mainly due to the holy month of Ramadan and advent of Eid festival, reports a local daily quoting informed sources.
They explained that the number of people travelling during the summer vacation this year is expected to be 20 percent more than those who travelled last year because the summer holidays are extending into the month of September and Ramadan is falling at the start of the holidays.
The sources indicated that more than 1.8 million people are expected to travel overseas during the months of June, July and August, adding that more than 500,000 passengers are expected to travel at the end of July and that more than 26,000 flights are expected to depart or arrive Kuwait International Airport during these three months.
Regarding the favored destination this summer, the sources explained that Turkey tops the list followed by Western countries particularly United States of America due to increase in the value of dollar and decrease in value of Euro. The most favored destinations in Europe are Paris, Austria, Madrid and London while the top destinations in the Arab region are Cairo, Sharm el-Sheikh, Dubai and Beirut.
