Certain locations at Kuwait International Airport that were described as ‘off limits’ are being used to dump empty liquor bottles and cans that might be confiscated from passengers, security sources said. They were commenting on news about recent discoveries of empty liquor bottles at ‘hidden’ and ‘remote’ locations inside the airport.

On how the bottles could have accessed a high security place such as the airport, the sources said that they are often confiscated from transit passengers who agree to handover the bottles and board their flights without facing charges. “Confiscated bottles should be handed over to relevant authorities, but some airport personnel keep them for their own use then dump the empty bottles and cans to avoid being discovered,” the sources speculated.
