Air India honors Top Performing Agencies at Grand Awards Ceremony

Air India last week honored their top performing agents at a gala awards ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel’s Al Baraka Ballroom. 15 agents received top honors with certificates and awards of recognition. TVS International Travels & Tours, Eternity International Travels & Tourism, Caesars Travel Co., Badur Travels and Captain Tours & Travels were declared the top five agents for the year.

Air India Express also appreciated their top five agents that included Caesers Travel Co., Badur Travels, Virtus Tours & Travels, Al Hind Tours & Travels and TVS Travels & Tours. A special award for Excellence was presented to House of Travels, the Air India General Sales Agent in Kuwait and the Crowne Plaza Hotel for their continued support and high quality service.

The awards were presented by Chief Guest, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, His Excellency Sunil Jain, Yousef Al Bader, President House of Travels, David Abraham, CEO, House of Travels, Melwin D’Silva, Regional Manager, Gulf, Middle East and Africa and Ajay Sinha, Country Manager, Kuwait. Ambassadors of Bangladesh and Bhutan, H.E. Mohammed Ashab Uddin and H.E.  Dasho Tashi Phuntsog and Dr. Gargi Jain, wife of the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait along with several other distinguished business personalities also graced the evening.

During his speech addressing the gathering, Sinha expressed his gratitude for the continued support from agents and gave his assurance that the airline would continue to provide new and improved services to Kuwait. Regional Manager, Air India Melwin D’Silva highlighted the achievements made by Air India in the recent times including joining the Star Alliance. He assured all support to Kuwait from the Regional Office.

The event was made even more special with a theme of ‘Unity in Diversity’ highlighting India’s national integration.  Guests were taken on a cultural journey of India starting from the North to the South and from East to the West through beautiful dances from each region culminating into a lively finale with Jai Ho.

Local Kuwaiti singer Mubarak Al Rashed highlighted Air India’s international connections as Kuwaiti singing Hindi and Konkani songs. Some interesting games, raffle draws and spot prizes gave a lighter touch to the entertaining evening leaving all the guests in good spirits. The new Airport Manager for Air India Hirak Mukherjee in his closing address congratulated all the award winners, agents, special guests, the Air India team and all others that contributed to making the event a huge success.
