ASSE Kuwait Chapter organised the third session of Contractor Safety Month

American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Kuwait Chapter is Kuwait’s premier voluntary & non-profit organization providing professional guidance, training and consultancy; in the field of Health, Safety and Environment; to the industrial and social sectors in the region. Continuing its constant efforts towards social responsibility and commitment, American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Kuwait Chapter, organised the third session of the Contactor Safety Month, where specialists from M/s Scott Safety conducted a presentation on latest technology in Breathing Air Systems.

The event was conducted at KOC Hubara Centre – Assembly Hall at Ahmadi Township. 

The event started with a safety moment and opening address by Jignesh Shah, Chapter Secretary. Jignesh Shah in his address informed that the chapter is organizing the Contractor Safety month for the benefit of contractors in state of Kuwait who are exposed to various safety risks. These technical meet events are open to everyone, so that the contactors who have a major role in industrial sector are updated to the best practices and latest technologies.

Ali Dawood Al Khaldy  HSE Team Leader  Drilling and Technology  Kuwait Oil Company inaugurated the event. In his inaugural address Ali  acclaimed the efforts of ASSE in organising these events  for the benefit of contractors working in the industrial sector.  Ali Al Khaldy  was presented with a memento by Ashok Garlapati Advisory committee member of ASSE Kuwait Chapter along with  Chapter Secretary Jignesh Shah.

Sunil N Sadanandan, Head of Technical Event Committee introduced the speakers Tony Pickett Global Product Manager and Sebastian Bolik  Technical Support Manager from M/s Scott Safety, leaders in the manufacturing of Safety Equipments.

Tony Pickett in his presentation explained about the  latest  technologies available for the breathing apparatus sets. Sebastian Bolik briefed about the power air respiratory  systems.

Jignesh Shah, Chapter Secretary briefed about the ASSE Chapter upcoming programs, like HAZOP Leader Training and the BOHS Certified Training Program on Industrial Hygiene and the 8th International Professional Development Conference.

Sunil N Sadanandan Head of the Training Committee. in his closing address thanked the Kuwait Oil Company for their continuous support extended to ASSE Kuwait chapter. He also thanked the Speakers Tony Pickett Global Product Manager and Sebastian Bolik  Technical Support Manager from M/s Scott Safety, and the sponsors M/s Raja Company for the presentations. He thanked the all the participants who took their time in the evening to attend and enrich their knowledge. Later in a business session Ashok Garlapati  Advisory Committee member of the ASSE Kuwait Chapter  addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of joining ASSE . He also announced the farewell of ASSE member Reghunathan, HSE Manager of M/s HEISCO, who is leaving Kuwait. Reghunathan was presented with a memento and in his speech, he cherished the time spent with ASSE Kuwait Chapter.

Certificate of participation was distributed to all the participants. These events are aimed to improve the awareness on safety for the supervisory and above level staff from contracting companies, Oil Sector, Consultants, Government Sectors, etc. ASSE Kuwait Chapter welcomes them to attend all the workshops. The entry is free.

The next session will be held on 3 November at the KOC Tent  opposite of the Unity Centre from 06.30pm to 08.30pm, where specialists  from M/s Ansell  will be giving presentation on Hand Protection.
