AMG wins S-ELITE and FFCC claims S-Champions and J-Elite Trophies

Kuwait Cricket organized exciting cricket matches last Friday by conducting three top-notch finals, two at the Sulaibiya Turf ground and one at Jleeb ground. Fahaheel Friends Cricket Club (FFCC) defeated Apparel Heroes in the finals to bag Sulaibiya Champions League Trophy, AMG defeated Petrofac for the Sulaibiya Elite League Trophy and FFCC beat Black Mambaaz to win their second finals for the Jleeb Elite League Trophy.

In the first finals played at Sulaibiya Cricket ground for the  Kuwait Cricket Champions League,  FFCC defeated Apparel Heroes handsomely by ten wickets. Fahaheel Friends Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field first. Apparel Heroes lost opener Uday Kumar for nine, Kamal for zero and Asghar for nine. Alagesan made 27 with two boundaries and Karamjeet made 25.

Vijay remained unbeaten on 20 off 14 balls and saw the wickets tumbling on the other end. Apparel Heroes managed a paltry total of 97 for the loss of nine wickets off 20 overs. Abdul Kadir bowled magnificently claiming four wickets conceding only seven runs. Abdol Ahad, Mohesh and Ziaur claimed one wicket each. In reply, FFCC openers Mohesh scored an unbeaten 44 off 20 balls with four sixes and two boundaries while Diju Xavier scored a well-deserved half century off only 21 balls with three sixes and six boundaries ensuring an emphatic 10 wicket victory for FFCC. Abdul Kadir was adjudged the man of the finals.

The second finals for Kuwait Cricket Elite League, AMG defeated Petrofac by 24 runs. AMG captain sanal won the toss and elected to bat first. Khalid butt and Sanal started aggressively scoring at brisk pace. Khalid made 21 off 14 balls with four boundaries in a first wicket partnership of 39 with Sanal. He was caught by Satya off Mudassar. Sanal went on to score a superb half century off only 36 balls with two sixes and 3 boundaries. AMG lost Hamza and Asghar cheaply but Adnan with a quick 27 and Rasheed with a patient 17 ensured a defendable total of 153 all out.

Indika was the pick of the Petrofac bowlers claiming four for 31 runs followed by Mudassar who took three wicket for 28 and Murali two for 24. Sajid had one wicket for 28. In reply, Petrofac lost their prolific scorer Midhun bowled first ball by Dinto. Hansen (18), Nadeem (18) and Kalim (16) tried steadying the innings but the wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. Deepak with 21 and Mudassar with 19 were the only two middle order batsmen who offered some resistance to some accurate bowling by Sanal who took three for 18, Nabeel two for 20, Farhan two for 33, Dinto two for 22 and Khalid Butt one for 14. Sanal Govind was adjudged man of the finals for his all-round performance.

In another finals played at KC Jleeb ground, FFCC claimed the Jleeb Elite trophy by defeating Black Mambaz by eight wickets. Black Mambaz Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost Nishad for nought and Ismael for four. Zulfiqar played a gem of a knock scoring 87 off 51 balls with one six and 10 hits to the fence. The rest of the team succumbed to some fine bowling by Morshed and Mohesh. Black Mambaz scored 145 for nine off the 20 overs. For FFCC, Mohesh took three wickets for 14 runs. FFCC opener Diju was out for 13.

Thereafter, Mohesh and Adnan played some exquisite strokes to take FFCC close to the target. Mohesh was out for 56 off 41 balls with four sixes and three boundaries. Adnan remained unbeaten on 66 off only 36 deliveries with two sixes and seven hits to the fence. FFCC reached the target off 15.3 overs. Naveen took one for 34 and Yunus one for 21. Mohesh Kumar was adjudged the man of the finals.

The winners, runners up and man of the finals trophies and prizes to the finalists were given by the Kuwait Cricket Director General, Asad Baig, Director Domestic, Iqbal Vanoo, Director Umpiring, Mr. Riaz Chaudhry, Asst. Director, Iqbal Rajapurkar and the guests of honour, Pradeep K., Construction Director, Al-Fahoum, Country Manager, S.K. Singh, Construction Manager of Petrofac and Munirul Islam, GM Sjharqiya Al-Kuwaitiya of FFFCC.
