Sustainability focused real estate developer, ALARGAN International Real Estate Company hosted a knowledge sharing session with experts from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) on 20 January, at the company headquarters within the ARGAN Business Park in the Shuwaikh Free Trade Zone.

With discussions and a tour focused on ALARGAN International’s headquarters – Kuwait’s only LEED Platinum Certified building, and located within the ARGAN Business Park – the session was organized as a part of the Company’s commitment to sustainability, with an objective of passing on expert knowledge on the construction and management of sustainable buildings to members of the scientific research organization.

The session comprised over 25 qualified engineers and specialist doctors from KISR – including the Energy and Building Research Center, discussing international standards of sustainability and technical management in green buildings with ALARGAN Project Management’s team of skilled engineers and architects. The session focused on several touch-points regarding better management and enhancement of Kuwait’s energy needs and challenges, including a live tour of the ARGAN Business Park and the LEED certified headquarters located within it.

The interactive session also witnessed discussions regarding the nation’s energy demands and Kuwait’s future sustainability strategy (2030). ALARGAN International CEO and Deputy Chairman Engineer Khaled Khudhair Al-Meshaan, commenting on the meet, said, “our partnership with KISR provides an open space for knowledge exchange, constructive discussions and an opportunity to share and debate the best practices on sustainability.

“We believe that these types of activities can lead to the positive sustainable development of the State of Kuwait and help meet the country’s target of utilizing renewable energy resources to produce 15% of Kuwait’s energy needs by 2030.”

ALARGAN began hosting coaching sessions in 2015 out of the seen need to share the real estate developer’s knowledge in planning and constructing sustainable buildings and communities, a key business objective of ALARGAN in order to minimize environmental impact while helping to create a sustainable future with actions that impact people’s lives in the present.
