AIP organizes fancy dress competition

The Association of Indian Professionals (AIP), Kuwait organized an Inter Indian Schools fancy dress competition with the theme of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) on 30 April at the auditorium of Indian Community Senior School, Salmiya. Participants were the bona-fide students from various Indian Schools in Kuwait. Participants were divided two categories - solo and groups. There were 16 entries in solo category and eight in group.

His Excellency, the Ambassador of India, Sunil Jain was the Chief Guest. Rajpal Tyagi, Chaitali Banerjee Roy and Dr. Navniit Gandhi were the judges. Shivani Rajive Menon was the anchor for the entire event. Program went on very well and smoothly and can be considered as ‘another feather in the cap’ for AIP

Event started with the National Anthems of Kuwait and India which was followed by the lighting of the lamp by H.E. the Ambassador of India, Sunil Jain accompanied by the Chairman, Umesh Sharma; General Secretary, Dr. Kamlesh Kumari; Treasurer, Umesh Shahani; Joint Secretary, Sajeev K. Peter and Executive Member, AR Subbaraman.

General Secretary, Dr. Kamlesh Kumari, in her welcome address, covered the activities undertaken by AIP. She also highlighted significance of picking up the theme for the Fancy Dress Competition. Dr. Kamlesh requested the audience to join AIP in order to serve Indian community more efficiently.

Chairman, Umesh Sharma stressed on cleanliness and apprised the audience that Mahatma Gandhi was the first person to advocate for the cleanliness. Sharma thanked H.E., Sunil Jain and the Judges for their valuable time. Mr. Sharma also thanked all Executive committee members for their efforts / contributions to make this program a success.

His Excellency underlined the importance of cleanliness in our daily lives but cautioned that this may not be an easy task. However, he was optimistic that if consistent efforts are made, it is possible to achieve. He appreciated efforts made by AIP in this direction.

Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners and runners of both the categories by H.E., Sunil Jain and Sharma. Raed M. Nasser Akhlaq from Carmel School, Khaitan and Amatullah Khokhar from Fahaheel Al-Wataneih Indian Private School FAIPS (DPS), Ahmadi were adjudged as the winner and the runner respectively in Solo category whereas Group 5 from Indian Community School (Junior Br.), Salmiya and Group#1 from FAIPS (DPS), Ahmadi were adjudged as the winner and runner respectively in the group category competitions. Members of Group#5 were; Afrah Quadri Syeda, Shambhavi Ekbote, Shreelakshmi Binumon, Aateka Nadeem, & Kaveri Amith Nath. Group 1 was comprised of Sharda Sujit Nair, Arwa Zafar, Anirudh Srinivas, C.H. Satvik Ram & Khusi Sarvesh. Mementoes were presented to all the three judges.

Certificate of appreciation were given to all the participants by Dr. Kamlesh Kumari and Mr. Tyagi, Mrs. Banerjee Roy and Dr. Gandhi. .

Shaivani Rajive Menon was awarded a certificate of appreciation along with a gift for her excellent performance as an anchor. Mr. Peter proposed the vote of thanks.
