Passengers on Air India’s Flight AI976 departed Kuwait at midnight on 31 December, 2014 and at the dawn of the New Year 2015, received a very pleasant surprise. The passengers headed to Goa and Chennai were given gifts while cuddly toys and educational games were distributed to the infants and children. The happy faces of the passengers and the laughter of the children filled the air. The joy that the New Year usually brings was doubled, and it was indeed a happy occasion for both passengers and the staff of Air India.

Air India may have some more surprises in store for their valued customers in the coming months.  And passengers are encouraged to be alert for further details. Another achievement that brings pride to Air India is the fact that it became the 27th member of Star Alliance on 11 July, 2014, bringing its strong domestic network in the 5th largest aviation market to star alliance customers.

Air India customers can now enjoy the same benefits of the vast network of 26 other star members covering over 1300 destinations, 192 countries and over 18000 daily flights. Air India has added 400 daily flights and 40 Indian destinations to the network. The biggest advantage for passengers will be the benefit of seamless travel across the countries due to through check in for passengers and baggage up to the final destination on member airlines’ flights.

Air India has recently been awarded the Asian Voice Political & Public Life – Airline of the year for 2014 at a function held in the House of Commons in London, UK.

Besides, for the past years, Air India has been awarded the ‘Most Trusted Brand‘ in the airline category by Brand Equity magazine of Economic Times and has been voted as the top ‘Trusted Brand’ in the airline category by the customers in the survey conducted by the Readers’ Digest magazine.
