A fruity day of learning at BSK
October 18, 2017, 5:29 pm

At the British School of Kuwait (BSK) Year 3 students immersed themselves into their learning, by coming to school dressed as their favorite fruit or vegetable, as part of their Science topic ‘Plants and Animals, including Humans’.

During the day, the students participated in some practical learning activities. The teachers and students brought in different types of healthy food and held tasting sessions to taste new fruits and vegetables. The students were also given an opportunity to make fresh smoothies and juices.

Miss Sadie, Head of Year 3, remarked, “It was a fantastic day and a great way to end the Science topic. Everyone really enjoyed the day and it has inspired a love of learning and raised high expectations for the rest of the term”.

Throughout the week students were also able to join in with a variety of exercise sessions, such as Vibe, Crossfit and yoga. The Vibe sessions were a particular favorite, with students enjoying the chance to choreograph some of their own dance moves. Each day Year 3 teachers delivered short yoga sessions, designed to help the students feel calm and be mindful. All these activities were used to enhance the curriculum and was planned to guide the students to live a healthy lifestyle, outside of school.
