The Emergency Team of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality embarked on an inspection campaign at Al-Qurain Markets which resulted in confiscation of 8 tons and 267 kilograms of expired food items from a warehouse and the administrative closure of the warehouse, as well as issuance of 16 citations, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Director of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality Eng. Samiya Al-Enezi said, “The municipality inspectors of the governorate are always efficient and effective in carrying out their duties. They usually take necessary legal steps as soon as they detect violations. Plans are afoot to intensify inspection across the governorate.”

Meanwhile, officials from the Encroachment Demolition Department of Capital Municipality carried out several field campaigns in some shops, restaurants and buildings in Jaber Al-Ahmad, Qibla, Shuwaikh Industrial Area and Mubarakiya areas to ensure adherence to the Municipality regulations. The inspections led to issuance of 146 citations.

Head of the department Eng. Abdullah Jaber highlighted the citations issued during the campaigns. He explained that 134 citations were issued for violating public hygiene and planting rules in line with Law No. 9/1987. Also, 12 citations were issued against violating billboards and shops. The officials issued six warnings against some buildings. One of these buildings was detected to be built contrary to the plan. In addition, five work suspension orders were issued at some construction sites.

The driver of a car exposed the lives of other motorists to danger when he closed the road and drove in the opposite direction of the traffic, says Al-Seyassah.  In a video clip of the incident that went viral on social media, the driver was seen performing stunts after closing the way for incoming cars. The incident happened in Jahra opposite Al Oyoun area. It is reported that the location has become a regular spot for those who perform stunts. Security authorities have launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect.
