Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education Dr Haitham Al-Athari announced that 625 teachers from the United States of America are teaching in foreign schools in Kuwait, and 11 American schools teach the American curricula to students from different nationalities, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a statement, Dr Al-Athari explained the procedure is under the framework of cooperation between Kuwait and the US in education sector. Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs in the Ministry of Education Yusuf Al-Najar disclosed that tenders have been fl oated for cleaning activities in four educational zones while Central Tenders Committee has started accepting bids from various companies that provide cleaning services to schools, indicating the committee is waiting for approval of the State Audit Bureau to pass all four tenders.
Al-Najar noted the previous service contract of one cleaning company has been extended for one educational zone, whereas Farwaniya educational area cleans its schools, area headquarters and affiliated departments using specific cleaning service providers through the ministry. He reaffirmed the required quota of cleaning workers for the schools, including kindergartens in all six governorates, will be fulfilled before the start of the new academic year on Sunday Sept 18.
