An impressive function was held on 9 September at the Chancery to celebrate the 50th Defence Day of Pakistan. Despite being a working day, a large number of Pakistan nationals living in Kuwait attended the function. The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem. This was followed by a crowded function at the Quaid-e-Azam Auditorium, which started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, next was a beautiful segment where popular national songs were sung and a tableau dedicated to the martyrs of the Peshawar massacre and our Armed Forces by school children, which was enthusiastically appreciated by the audience.
The Ambassador read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. In his own remarks on the occasion, the Ambassador touched on the great sacrifices given by Pakistan's heroic armed forces for the protection of the homeland.
An exhibition displaying the memorable moments of the 1965 war was appreciated by the participants and media. Subsequently, traditional Pakistani dishes were served. The crowd was fully involved in the celebrations, enthusiastically chanting the slogans of Pakistan Zindabad.
