4th Investiture at Indian Learners Own Academy

Indian Learners Own Academy held their 4th Investiture on 11 May 2014 with great enthusiasm. The Investiture marked a significant beginning of the new academic session. It was a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school.

The function commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by its translation and a Prayer in English. The National Anthems of Kuwait and India were sung with a spirit of patriotism as a mark of respect and honour to the respective countries. The Chief Guest Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba did the honours of lighting the lamp of knowledge on this auspicious occasion. The school Principal Mrs. Asha Sharma extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, staff members, parents and the students present at the ceremony.

Members of the Board of Directors Mr. Ibrahim, Mrs. Rejji Lamba and Mr. D.K. Sharma were present on this occasion. Mr. D.K. Sharma, Chairman of ILOA along with the Chief Guest Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba inducted the newly elected members of the school with badges and sashes. Vedagam Vishnu Vardhan Reddy was appointed as the School Head Boy and Merin Maliyeckel was appointed as the School Head Girl.

An oath was administered by the Principal where the students promised to honour their titles by fulfilling their responsibilities and giving their best to the school.  The Chief Guest, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba in his speech shared his experiences of how he started his career and gradually reached to the heights of success. He was gratified at the views of Mrs. Asha Sharma about him and expressed his heartfelt thanks for inviting him to the ceremony. In his speech, he praised the Principal Mrs. Asha Sharma, as a great educationist. He said that education is a passion that has no barriers. He also said that to be successful in life one must always respect his elders and lead an honest life.

During the event, Sarah Mary Paul and Sakshi Sreenivasan, students of Class IX were awarded with scholarships for achieving A1 grade in all the subjects for the academic year 2013-14 by the gracious hands of Mrs. Rejji Lamba and Mr. Ibrahim. The school congratulates them on their success. Besides, students were awarded with certificates for having meticulously carried out their duties for the post bestowed to them for the academic year 2013-14.

The students of various sections performed a spectacular classical dance choreographed by the dance teacher Ms. Sushi.
The grand occasion came to an end with the Head Girl expressing her gratitude to all and sharing her objectives for the academic year 2014-15, along with a heart warming Vote of Thanks by the Head Boy.
