An Asian expatriate died and 10 other people — including Egyptians, suffered various degrees of injuries when a bus overturned on Salmi Motorway.
Acting on information, the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry deployed a rescue team to the scene, alongside 10 ambulances and two helicopters of the Ministry of Health.
Two of the injured people were airlifted and the others transported in ambulances to various hospitals for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old Nepalese housemaid ended her own life by hanging herself with a rope tied to the ceiling of a makeshift room on the rooftop of her sponsor’s house in Waha, Jahra, reports Al-Anba daily.
The sponsor noticed the absence of his housemaid and when he went to search for her, he found her corpse dangling in the makeshift room.
The corpse was referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death and police are conducting investigations.
In another development, a four-year-old child drowned in the swimming pool of a chalet, reports Al-Rai daily.
The victim was with his family at the time of the incident.
The father rushed the child to Adan Hospital but he was declared dead. And, a 36-year-old Egyptian man died due to electrocution while he was at work in Jahra, reports Al-Anba daily.
The co-worker of the victim called the Operations Unit of the Interior Ministry and then the victim was rushed to the hospital on board an air ambulance. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
