97 felonies, 254 misdemeanors investigated
Police arrested 289 persons and 93 were deported during the period from February 1 until February 28, 2015, said Adballah Al-Ajmi, Acting Director of Hawally Security Department. He said there were 97 felonies and 254 misdemeanors investigated in the same period.
3 arrested with drugs
Drugs Control Department local unit arrested an Egyptian national with one kilogram of ice. Security men raided his residence where they found the drugs. He was sent to concerned authorities after he confessed that the drugs belonged to him. In other news, Farwaniya police arrested a person with more than 500 gram shabu with him. The drugs were found in his car. Meanwhile, police found 57 small envelopes containing heroin with an undisclosed taxi driver.
An Iraqi, bedoon and a Gulf national were arrested following a hot pursuit, during which the driver ran several traffic lights, ending in colliding with a concrete barrier, injuring him and his companions. A security source said an Ahmadi police patrol saw a car being driven erratically, and followed until it reached Fahaheel Expressway, where it hit the center cement barrier. The driver was found wanted on three cases, the bedoon was wanted to serve a four-year jail sentence and the Iraqi was wanted to serve two months in prison. Six rings, suspected of being stolen, were found with them. In a separate case, a citizen was sent to the civil sentences implementation department as he is wanted over a KD 30,000 debt. He was arrested in Mahboula.
