Acting Director- General of the Manpower Public Authority (MPA), Ahmad Al-Mousa has said personnel from the department have issued from June 1 to June 18, 259 citations to construction workers who were caught working outside the permissible working hours, reports Al-Seyassah daily. It is worth mentioning that working in open areas under the direct heat of the sun is forbidden between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm from June 1 until August 31.
Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) Mohammed Bushehri said the ministry plans to refer some employees to the public Prosecution for tampering with the fingerprint attendance system, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The employees were reportedly using a special plastic substance to make replica of their prints and these prints were used by the colleagues to mark their attendance, Bushehri explained. And, police are looking for the owner of a car which was found abandoned near United Nations building in Mishref, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added, the vehicle does not carry any number plate. The presence of the suspect vehicle was reported to the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry by unidentified persons. Police have towed the car to the Interior Ministry garage for examination.
