Some 221 individuals were arrested for violating residency law and not carrying necessary identification documents in a recent campaign launched by security operatives from various security directorates with guidance and instructions from the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdul-Fattah Al-Ali.
Two of the suspects were involved in civil and criminal cases, with illicit drugs in their possession, says Al-Seyassah. A security source said officers from the Farwaniya Security Directorate nailed 22 residency law violators and 40 other individuals who failed to provide their personal identification documents. Jahra officers led by Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah apprehended 17 motorists for reckless driving, and impounded 9 vehicles, detained 17 individuals without civil ID cards plus 12 residency law violators, and recovered 6 stolen vehicles, issued 65 traffic violations and impounded 10 wanted vehicles.
Meanwhile, in the Capital, officers arrested 8 people for civil and criminal offenses, in addition to 4 marginal workers and six absconders. Security operatives from Mubarak Al-Kabeer detained 16 individuals who couldn’t show their identification papers, and recovered a stolen vehicle. Also, they apprehended 9 marginal workers, seized the vehicles of 7 reckless motorists, and nailed 5 hawkers with 4 residency violators after resolving 4 quarrels.
