In their continuing campaign against vice, officers from the Public Security Sector have arrested 192 individuals for various offenses, including residency violation, lack of personal identification papers, absconding from sponsors and drug addiction.
They also impounded 49 wanted vehicles. An Interior Ministry press release indicated that officers from the Hawalli Security Directorate arrested 50 people for various offenses such as residency violation, while patrol officers from Farwaniya nailed 45 people for similar offenses and seized 9 wanted vehicles. Meanwhile, officers from Ahmadi governorate mounted checkpoints at vantage points and recovered 39 stolen vehicles and arrested 42 residency law violators, 9 drug addicts and another person for consuming alcohol.
Other operations led to arrest of 16 people for drug-related offenses, impersonation of police, and begging for alms.
In the Capital, security operatives apprehended 27 people for a range of violations and referred them to concerned authorities, while in Jahra two people were nabbed for loitering after the police have recovered a stolen vehicle. Public Security Sector confirmed that the campaign will continue over an indeterminate period to rid the country of criminals and to safeguard the security of citizens and expatriates.
