About 16,500 citizens are on the waiting list for employment, Undersecretary at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Mohammed Al- Roumi said yesterday. The CSC receives job applications four times a year when it employs 12,000 job seekers. On the fringes of a training program for manpower planning, Roumi said that the program will see the participation of 70 trainees from 40 different bodies from private and public sectors.
Meanwhile, Arab Planning Institute Director Dr Bader Malallah stressed the importance of achieving the country’s development plan in labor and human resources markets by hiring more Kuwaiti nationals. He also pointed out to the importance of diversification of income sources and strengthening the role of the private sector to contribute to the growth of the county’s Gross domestic product (GDP). He added that the country is suffering from a lack of economic base and relies on oil industry as its main source of income which only can be solved by the county’s developing plan.
