152 tenders worth KD 1.5 billion in 1Q - CTC
Some 152 tenders have been awarded during the first three months of the year, with a total of KD 1.5 billion, for both the government bodies and the oil sector, the Central Tenders Committee (CTC) has said. (1 KWD = USD 3.3) The estimated value of these tenders is KD 1.3 billion, the CTC added in a statement on Monday.
It noted that the CTC had held 26 meetings during the first quarter of 2015 to discuss issues related to offering tenders and applications and other related steps. According to the statement, the value of 10 awarded tenders for projects in the oil sector hit KD 1.2 billion, compared to KD 264 million for 142 tenders for the government bodies.
The Ministry of Electricity and Water had the highest number in government sector, 24 awarded tenders worth KD 147 million, followed by the Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAF), three ones worth KD12 million. Kuwait University came third with 15 tenders worth KD 10.9 million.
In the petroleum sector, the Kuwait Oil Company came first with five tenders worth KD 1.261 billion, followed by the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), two tenders worth KD 19.5 million. The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) followed in the third place with three tenders valued at KD 728,000.
