Operations Director at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Saleh Al-Fudaghi announced that 148,850 passengers traveled from Kuwait International Airport between June 10 and June 17, reports Al-Al- Qabas daily.
In a statement, Al-Fudaghi added that passengers traveled aboard 1254 flights with four extra flights, and that Istanbul was the favorite destination for the majority of passengers during the period. Al-Fudaghi mentioned that London came second as the favorite destination, followed by Dubai, Munich and Mash’had in third, fourth, and fifth respectively.
The city of Najaf was the sixth favorite destination, and then Beirut and Jeddah followed respectively. He indicated passengers turned to other destinations like Doha, Riyadh, Lahore, Mumbai, Dhaka and Colombo. Al-Fudaghi affirmed the operations department had completed preparations to deal with the huge number of travelers since the beginning of summer and placed a support team on standby to reduce pressure at the counters and to ensure smooth processing of travel procedures.
