Officers from Traffic Sector issued 940 citations for various traffic offenses and impounded 147 buses to garages of the department, in their continuing campaign to enforce regulations and protect road users and ensure public safety, urging motorists to follow the traffic rules to protect life and property, says Al- Seyassah. Meanwhile, a team of officers from Jahra Security Directorate impounded 13 vehicles as some of the owners were performing car stunts on the road while others put stickers on their cars and some were driving recklessly.
The officers carried out an extensive security campaign in the area in compliance with the directive of Jahra Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah. They also issued traffic 50 citations during the campaign.
And, Security operatives of Shuwaikh Port foiled an attempt by a person to smuggle consignment of imitation clothes of renowned international brands into the country, with the intention of selling them for a quarter of the original price. A security source said the officers were conducting routine check on the containers when a shipment coming from China caught their attention. They summoned the owner for question after discovering the counterfeit goods.
