A national endeavor launched by Kuwaiti youngsters has earned the sponsorship of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad AlJaber AlSabah, an advisor at the Amiri Diwan said on Tuesday.

His Highness the Amir's sponsorship of the project, christened "Kuwait is Proud," is a testament to the unbridled support he has always given Kuwaiti youth, Dr. Yousef AlIbrahim told a press conference to promulgate the initiative.

The project, which comprises a month's worth of activities, revolves around the intertwined concepts of innovation and creativity, two integral factors that help ensure longterm growth, he added.

Describing the youth as the "building blocks of a nation," Kuwait's Information Minister Mohammad AlJabri said this crucial demographic can help shape up the political and economic landscapes of any country. AlJabri, who also serves as minister of state for youth affairs, said the aforementioned notion explains why Kuwait formed a government body dedicated to youth matters, in reference to the ministry of state for youth affairs.

The contributions of the youth form an integral part of Kuwait's sustainable development plans, according to Kuwait's Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development Dr. Khaled Mehdi.

As part of efforts to interact with Kuwaiti youngsters, the Public Authority for Youth has organized some 55 panel discussions in recent years to allow them to have their say on current state of affairs, its director general Abdulrahman AlMutairi pointed out.
