September 18, 2016, 2:23 pm

KidZania Kuwait, the exciting kid-sized metropolis, has announced its collaboration with local charity Zakat House to launch KidZania’s first charity organization. Visitors will be educated on funding and the importance of charity, good deeds and giving back to others.

The launch is part of KidZania’s strong commitment to empowering kids and helping them give back to society. The new establishment will allow kids to contribute to funding a project, advocate others to donate in kidZos, KidZania’s official currency, and be part of a greater cause.

Fernando Medroa, Vice President of Leisure and Entertainment at M.H. Alshaya Co. said: “At KidZania, we aim to help children develop a range of skills and values that they will need when they grow up. Having Zakat House on board will help our kids live and learn the importance of generosity, sharing and thinking of others.”

Deputy Director of Resources and Media at Zakat House, Kawthar Al Musallam, said, “Zakat House is keen on helping kids realize the value of charity and helping others to enable them to become future pioneers in charity work, both locally and internationally.”

Al Musallam also added: “Introducing the Zakat House establishment in KidZania was to instill the importance of charity and giving back to others among kids, by encouraging them to collect funds in kidZos – KidZania’s official currency, and help finance many charity projects at the establishment in a fun role-play setting.”

Before the launch, KidZania ran a kidZos fundraising campaign led by its CongreZZ members, where kids visiting KidZania were given the chance to donate their kidZos. The amount collected was used to redeem school stationery which were donated to Zakat House for distribution to the children in need – just in time for the back to school season!
