The event was a multi-dimensional show, titled 'Kallai Kadav' that highlighted the beauty and wealth of the Malabar cultural heritage and its long-standing relationship with Kuwait. Many eminent socio-cultural personalities from Kuwait and India were in attendance for the festivities. Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Sunil Jain inaugurated the event. Well known Kerala Film writer & Director Sri. I.V. Sasi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

A Souvenir containing articles and short stories by KDNA members was released by I.V. Sasi, and I Black Kuwait representative Mr. Abid received the first copy.

A remarkable sight at the festival was the entrance resembled the famous 'Kallai Bridge' in Kozhikode. After the initial opening ceremony, ladies participated in the Henna competition sponsored by Malabar Gold while children eagerly partook in the Face Painting Competition presented by Liberty Fashion.

To commemorate Kuwait's National and Liberation Days, a poster exhibit was on display detailing the history of Kuwait in colourful caricatures. Two high energy events followed, the Techno Smart sponsored Fancy Dress Competition for children, and the Grand Hyper sponsored Cooking competition for ladies, both showcasing enthusiastic participants who presented a wonderful show of their talent. Next were a musical show of Mehfil by Kuwait Melodies, and the Band Show. Another pleasing aspect of the festival was the variety of Malabar foods served in the stalls which appealed to every foodie.

A short intermission allowed the guests to mingle at a Social Gathering before the next stage of excitement could begin. Famous M-80 Moosa and Pathu team – Vinod Kovoor and Lakshmi Surabhi starred in a rib-sticking comedy show that evoked laughter from the audience.  Subsequently, a medley of entertainment featuring Oppana, Cinematic Dance, Fusion Dance and a Comedy Show pleased everyone with their dance moves, upbeat numbers and funny jokes.

The finale was fittingly explosive with a Live Orchestra performance by playback singer Afsal, with fabulous singer Mrs. Akhila Anand from the Malayalam film industry. The event ended with a coupon draw and many wonderful prizes handed out to the winners.  All attendees showed appreciation for the various facets of Malabar Maholsavam, and recognition for all participants who made the day special.
