Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait celebrated its Victory Day on 16 December at the Chancery with due festivity. The day began in the morning with the Bangladesh Ambassador, H.E. Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin, ndc, psc (Retd.), hoisting the National Flag at the Chancery Building and Bangladesh House. The attendees were, Embassy officials, officials from the Bangladesh Military contingent (BMC), Bangladesh Biman and members of Bangladesh community in Kuwait and media representatives.
The main program began with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an. One minute silence was observed to pay deep homage for the eternal peace of the departed soul of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and martyrs of the Liberation War in 1971. The officials of the Embassy read out the messages of the Day, followed by screening of a documentary film on the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
A discussion meeting was organized to discuss various aspects of the Great Independence of Bangladesh, where the freedom fighters and their memories in the battlefield were highlighted. The Ambassador in his speech paid profound homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mjuibur Rahman and all the martyrs and valiant Freedom fighters of the Liberation War. He prayed to Almighty Allah for the salvation of those departed souls and good health of all the living freedom fighters. He also extended his sincere felicitations and congratulations to all expatriate Bangladeshi in Kuwait.
