Kuwait Teachers Association has expressed frustration and resentment over the decision of the Civil Service Commission Council to reduce the accommodation allowance for expatriate teachers from KD 150 to KD60, warning this will have negative repercussions on the education process while causing occupational, psychological and financial instability to the affected teachers, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a press statement, the association pointed out those involved in the educational field are waiting for the decision to grant accommodation allowance to female Kuwaiti, GCC and Bedoun teachers to improve their financial situation.
The association asserted this allowance enable these teachers to perform their noble educational duties in a stable and balanced atmosphere. Commenting on the issue, Chairperson of the association Waleed Al-Hassawi urged Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Badar Al-Essa to cancel the decision immediately. He affi rmed the Board of Directors of the association will continue communicating with the minister and every relevant offi cial to solve the issue.
