The 'Papa Kahte Hain' concert was organized at the Dr. Kamel Al-Rayes Auditorium, American International School, Maidan Hawalli on Friday, 26 September 2014. The auditorium was jam-packed with music lovers who were eager for the star presence of Udit Narayan and his son, fan-favorite singer Aditya Narayan. This was the first time such a well-known family performed together live in Kuwait.

IYS President Shabbir Qamar kicked off the program at 6:30 pm by formally welcoming the crowd and emphasized the father son bond in a stirring speech. A moment of silence was observed for the national anthem of Kuwait and India, then Mr. Qamar introduced the compere of the evening, Shakier Shaikh.

Talented dance group D’Illusions and Punjabi Friend’s Bhangra Group hit all the right chords with their upbeat dancing and snappy music numbers. The official honoring ceremony commenced with sponsors receiving mementos for their generosity to the event. As a display of kindness, Mr. Prabjit Singh on behalf of IYS presented a cheque of Rs 50,000 to H.E. Sunil Jain as a contribution to the Prime Minister’s Jammu and Kashmir flood relief fund.  The sponsors were felicitated with a video and audio presentation that included voiceovers and background music; it was exclusively done for the event.

Udit Narayan's beautiful wife, Deepa Narayan Jha started the musical filled night with two songs that the audience appreciated, but the anticipation for the main star attractions was palpable. Finally, the youthful and exuberant Aditya Narayan appeared on stage with gusto to the applause from the audience. This young artist sang popular numbers 'Dhishkiyaan' and 'Tatad Tatad'  which had the audience tapping their feet gleefully.

His father joined him and cheers erupted as the two stars blended their rich vocals into an energetic rendition of popular songs. When the father and son pair began singing 'Papa Kahte Hain', the crowd cheered them on and listened with rapt attention to the poignant lyrics. Aditya Narayan showed respect and admiration as he introduced his father on stage.

Celebrated Kuwaiti singer Mubarak Alrashed, who is loved for singing Hindi songs like a pro, impressed all present with a song called 'Main Hoon Don', and equally enchanting was Anaya Brahma from Mumbai. She entertained with famous Bollywood numbers during the break before the second entry of father and son.

The culminating finale was a deafening success that beat out everyone’s expectations. As a thank you for appearing to sing to so many fans, the family was honored with a memento. Next, a souvenir was released collectively by H.E. Sunil Jain and Udit Narayan as well as many sponsors and dignitaries of the event.
